The Middle East Forum website has released it's latest report on Muslim persecution of Christians, which is probably the most under-reported story in the mainstream news media, truly a travesty in itself. One need not even ask if there would be this much media silence if Muslims were being murdered for their faith all over the world the way Christians are.

The Islamic jihad against Christians in Nigeria is proving to be the most barbaric. A new report states that 70% of Christians killed around the world in 2012 were killed in the African nation. Among some of the atrocities committed in March alone, at least 41 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack at a bus station in a predominantly Christian neighborhood. According to the Christian Association of Nigeria, these attacks "were a signpost of the intended extermination of Christians and Christianity from northernNigeria."

According to the Rev. Jerome Ituah, "Out of the 52 Catholic churches in Maiduguri diocese, 50 of them have been destroyed by Boko Haram. When two Christian brothers were returning home after Sunday church service, jihadis opened fire on them with machine guns, killing the brothers, as well as three others, and injuring several more Christians.

Another 13 Christian factory workers in Kano were "gruesomely" slain. Said the local bishop: "Reports of the attack reaching us disclosed that on that fateful Saturday at about 7 p.m, Muslim faithful were conducting their prayer close to the affected compound occupied by Christian families, when two taxi cabs stopped in front of the compound and the occupants, who all concealed their arms dashed into the complex and demanded to know why the residents were not part of the 7 p.m. Muslim prayer. They responded by telling the visitors they were Christians and so could not be part of the Muslim gathering. At that point, they separated the men from their wives and children and shot them dead on the spot after ordering the women and children into their homes" to be enslaved.

The bishop added that, "government should show more concern, like it has always done when Muslims are affected; I have not seen that in the case of Christians—that 13 Christians were killed in one straight attack and nothing is heard from the government reflects selective justice because we are aware of compensation paid to Muslim families in situations of this nature."

However, the Nigeria government recently did go on the offensive to try to contain the jihadis in northern Nigeria—only to be chastised by the Obama administration, in the person of John Kerry, who recently warned the Nigerian government not to violate the "human rights" of the jihadi mass murderers.

Categorized by theme, the rest of March's Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed by theme and in country alphabetical order, not necessarily according to severity:

When Jesus was asked in Matthew 24 what would be the signs of his coming, the first thing he said was "Take heed that no man deceive you, for many shall come in my name saying 'I am Christ, and will deceive many'" (Matt 24:4-5). Just in case his point wasn't clear enough, he essentially repeats himself shortly afterward: "... if any man shall say unto you, Lo, there is christ, or there; believe it not, for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect"' (Matt 24:23-24) .

And yet, men continue to rise up and declare themselves to be Jesus Christ... and people continue to follow them, to their own detriment and destruction. The human capacity to be deceived continues to amaze me.

The Christian Post has a good article here on five of the more prominent false Christs in our world today. Excerpted from article: Five False Messiahs and Why Their Claims to be Jesus Contradict the Bible...
Australian Alan John Miller, Miami-based José Luis de Jesús Miranda, Brazilian-born Inri Cristo, Russia's Sergey Anatolyevitch Torop and Wayne Bent, who is currently imprisoned in New Mexico – these are men from different parts of the world all claiming, like dozens long gone before them, to be Jesus Christ, God's Messiah and even in one case, both Christ and the end-times figure, the Antichrist.
Perry Noble, pastor of the nondenominational NewSpring Church in Anderson, S.C ;, that part of him could hardly believe it.

"But then part of me goes to Matthew 24 where Jesus said other people are going to come in my name claiming I am he," he added. "Then he basically says don't fall for it. Jesus says when he comes back, we'll know it."

Despite such warnings, dozens of figures over time claiming to be Christ have attracted a following, with detrimental consequences, such as with Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple and David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. If there was ever a doubt that the Anglican/Espiscopalian church has descended into full-blown apostasy, there should be no further doubt after this. Personally, I was born and raised Anglican before later becoming Apostolic Pentecostal. Moments like these just remind me of how grateful I need to be every day to God for delivering me from the mess that is the Anglican church. I pray that the Lord will continue to deliver sincere Anglicans and sincere people trapped in other false-teaching denominations, out of falsehood into the truth of his word, into the truth of New Testament salvation.

The head of the Episcopal Church has garnered outrage from some in the Anglican Communion over her claim that St. Paul of Tarsus' curing of a demon-possessed slave girl as described in the Bible was wrong.

In a sermon delivered before the Diocese of Venezuela on the island nation of Curaçao, Presiding Bishop The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori said that by driving the demon out of her Paul was "depriving her of her gift of spiritual awareness."

"Paul is annoyed, perhaps for being put in his place, and he responds by depriving her of her gift of spiritual awareness," said Jefferts Schori.

"Paul can't abide something he won't see as beautiful or holy, so he tries to destroy it. It gets him thrown in prison. That's pretty much where he's put himself by his own refusal to recognize that she, too, shares in God's nature, just as much as he does – maybe more so!"

Amazing. So here we have the head of the Episcopal Church in the United States declaring that the Apostle Paul was wrong for casting a demon out of a young woman in the Book of Acts chapter 16. For her to just make that statement alone would be abominable enough, but when she gives her reasoning behind the statement, it becomes even more perverse.

Being demon-possessed is now having a gift of spiritual awareness? Really? And Ms. Schori thinks being demon-possessed is "beautiful or holy"? REALLY?? Logically speaking, if Ms. Schori thinks Paul was wrong for delivering the demon-possessed, wouldn't it also mean Jesus was wrong for doing the same thing?

It's so sad that any church would be led by a person so spiritually warped as to utter such words. It seems abundantly clear that this woman has no business running a single local church anywhere, much less a denomination of 2.1 million members. If these people in upper leadership had any sense of true spirituality, they would demand her resignation immediately. Of course I don't expect any such thing to happen, which is sad on many levels. All I can realistically hope for is that this will be an eye-opening moment for many Episcopalians, and that they will get out like I did, and never look back.

To all remaining Episcopalians I would simply say this:
Flee bad leadership while you can. "This woman Katharine Jefferts Schori CLEARLY does not know God! Jesus made it clear: "If the blind lead the blind, they will both fall into the ditch"(Matt 15:14). People who follow this woman will end up the same place she ends up.

Follow the New Testament gospel instead of the Episcopalian gospel. Repent, be baptized into the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2;38), find a true church that steadfast in preaching the apostles' doctrine (Acts 2:42), and live holy according to God's word.
This is one of the most powerful testimonies of God's grace I've ever seen and heard. And believe me, I've heard some pretty powerful ones. Two young brothers at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan speak of an incident in which God steps in and shows Himself strong. See it for yourself... good stuff! Sad to hear that a former co-worker of mine passed away a few days ago, at only 33 years young.

It just serves as a reminder that none of us is promised tomorrow. Every day is a gift. Indeed, every breath is a gift.

For me, it just reinforces my determination that every day must count for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God, and for His glory.

Thank you Lord God for this gift of life, and forgive me for too often taking it for granted.

Rest In Peace, Johann. All the best to your son, and to your family.

The elites who run things used to have no problem referring to their desired New World Order as, well, The New World Order. But when Christian prophecy watchers and other assorted opponents of world government started making frequent references to it, the term became a liability, and gradually fell into near disuse by the elites. The term One World Government also became undesirable. Another euphemism had to be found. Then came the term "global governance", a thinly veiled way of them referring to world government without actually calling it that.

Now, the term that has emerged is "world parliament", or (less frequently)"global parliament", a reference to the desire for a World Parliamentary Assembly, either to replace the United Nations, or to develop from within the existing United Nations structure. Since a parliament is essentially a legislative unit of a government, it kind of goes without saying that a global parliamentary assembly would, of necessity, be a unit of a global government. No matter what kind of word games they play, or what kind of clever verbiage they use to make their true long-term intentions, the fact is simple. The march toward world government continues, and the world;s power elite is committed to make it happen.

Christians (at least those who have been paying close attention) know that it WILL happen, and that the driving force behind it is not the result of either social evolution nor politcal evolution, as some would have us believe. We know this movement is simply the result of a Satanic plan to lay the groundwork for the coming Antichrist.

The "World Parliament" movement seems to have really picked up steam as of late. Here below is just a sampling of recent articles found on the internet regarding this scheme to one day enslave and entrap the citizens of the world in its clutches:

So its clear that the terms World Parliament and World Government are becoming essentially interchangeable terms, or at least they go hand in hand.
But there's the other side of the coin. Christian prophecy-watchers not only talk about the coming one world government, but also the coming one world religion, as the other cornerstone of the coming Antichrist's kingdom. So if there's all this talk about a political world parliament, one might think there's also a world parliament of religion somewhere out there. And if that's what you guessed... you've guessed right!

Consider, then, the World Congress of Religions 2012, held from November 30th -December 2nd, 2012, or the 1st World Parliament on Spirituality held in India just recently (December 17-21, 2012). As their own website says, the World Congress of Religions 2012 was an event inspired by the original Parliament of World Religions which took place way back in 1893.

(I'll speak more about the religious unity and these parliaments in a future post, God willing.)

Two sides of the same coin. To wings of the same evil bird. In the end the world will have its Antichrist, and its False Prophet (see Revelation 13).

There's very little that has shocked me this political season... but this really did.

As a former New Yorker, I read the NY news websites much more than the Atlanta papers here where I live. I like the NY Daily News, and have just learned to ignore their liberal slant on political matters. It was pretty much a given that they'd endorse Barack Obama, whom they endorsed in 2008 not surprisingly. So when I saw the NY Daily News endorse Mitt Romney for president, I couldnt believe my eyes. Am I reading this right? Is this satire? Was the webpage hacked? Nope. It's real. And quite surprising, if you really know the Daily News. I cant imagine anyone saying they saw this coming.

When the NYDN turns its back on an incumbent Democratic President, things must be really bad. I know Daily News writer Mike Lupica must be choking on his corn flakes right about now. Hopefully, he'll be OK.

I'll post a few paragraphs here. The article is well-reasoned, and a well laid out. Its a bit long, but I encourage reader's to check it out in its entirety.

America’s heart, soul, brains and muscle — the middle- and working-class people who make this nation great — have been beset for too long by sapping economic decline.

So, too, New York breadwinners and families.

Paychecks are shrunken after more than a decade in which the workplace has asked more of wage earners and rewarded them less. The decline has knocked someone at the midpoint of the salary scale back to where he or she would have been in 1996.

Then, the subway fare, still paid by token, was $1.50, gasoline was $1.23 a gallon and the median rent for a stabilized apartment was $600 a month. Today, the base MetroCard subway fare is $2.25, gasoline is in the $3.90 range and the median stabilized rent is $1,050, with all the increases outpacing wage growth.

A crisis of long duration, the gap between purchasing power and the necessities of life widened after the 2008 meltdown revealed that the U.S. economy was built on toothpicks — and they snapped.

Nine million jobs evaporated. The typical American family saw $50,000 vanish from its net worth, and its median household income dropped by more than $87 a week. New Yorkers got off with a $54 weekly hit.

Our leaders owed us better than lower standards of living, and we must have better if the U.S. is to remain a beacon of prosperity where mothers and fathers can be confident of providing for their children and seeing them climb higher on the ladder.

Revival of the U.S. as a land of opportunity and upward mobility is the central challenge facing the next President. The question for Americans: Who is more likely to accomplish the mission — Barack Obama or Mitt Romney?

Four years ago, the Daily News endorsed Obama, seeing a historic figure whose intelligence, political skills and empathy with common folk positioned him to build on the small practical experience he would bring to the world’s toughest job. We valued Obama’s pledge to govern with bold pragmatism and bipartisanship.

The hopes of those days went unfulfilled.

Achingly slow job creation has left the U.S. with 4.3 million fewer positions than provided incomes to Americans in 2007. Half the new jobs have been part-time, lower-wage slots, a trend that has ruinously sped a hollowing of the middle class.

The official unemployment rate stands at 7.9%, marking only the second month below 8% after 43 months above that level. Worse, add people who are working part-time because they have no better choice and the rate leaps to almost 15%. Still worse, add 8 million people who have given up looking for employment and the number who are out of jobs or who are cobbling together hours to scrape by hits some 23 million people.

Only America’s social safety net, record deficits and the Federal Reserve’s unprecedented low-interest policies have kept the label Great Depression II on the shelf.

The Christian Post has a good breakdown and analysis of last night's presidential debate, a debate most observers agree was won by Mitt Romney hands down.
I guess the key question being asked though, is, "Will it matter?". Frankly, I don't think it will.

Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but I still feel like Obama will end up winning in the end. This is the first of three debates. They still have two more debates coming up, dealing with social issues and foreign policy. Social issues like gay marriage and abortion "rights" are always a minefield for any Republican candidate, so I expect Obama to have the edge there. Foreign policy should be the President's strength since he has the power of incumbency and active foreign policy experience, as opposed to Romney, who might have some good ideas, but no actual experience in that area. This might seem to be an area of advantage for Obama, but his problem is that he actually has a foreign policy record to defend, and many areas for Romney to attack (such as the White House's dissembling, deceptive spinning of the story regarding the recent assassination of our ambassador to Libya [see stories here, and here on this, for example]).

Yes, I still think Obama will win, and I'll be shocked out of my mind if Romney pulls off the victory. But in the meantime, it's kinda fun to see so many liberals being quite uncomfortable, if not downright nervous — even panicky, at seeing that Romney might be more of a challenge to Obama this November than they thought.

Interestingly, I think one of the most telling comments in all this come from NBC's Tom Brokaw, who said that if Romney had performed like Obama did last night this thing would have been over. He's 100% right on that. The media would have pounced on Romney like jackals on a wounded deer, and essentially stuck the long knives into his campaign to try and finish him off. Now they cant quite do that — something, I firmly believe many of them were hoping, and still hope, to do so their guy can get re-elected.

At the end of the day, my position remains the same. No man has the answer to America's, or the world's, problems. I know who I'd prefer to see win this thing, but I'm not sure in the end it will really matter that much. At it's core, America's problems are neither social nor political; they are spiritual, and when all is said and done, if America continues to stray away from it's original biblical foundations and principles, we'll just continue to march headlong toward the day of destruction which is sure to come. Meanwhile, however, God bless America. And God help America.
Very sad to read of the recent passing of Rev. Henry Rodriguez, a Pastor affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International, who was senseless murdered by assassins this past week in Colombia.

May his soul rest in peace until the day that trumpet sounds. Blessings upon his family, and also to the church he left behind. May the saints of God never forget to pray for the safety and well-being of the ministers and fellow saints around the world. Amen.

Press Release from Christian Solidarity Worldwide (Sept. 19, 2012):

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) is calling for a full investigation into the murder of protestant Pastor Henry Rodriguez, 44, who was shot dead as he exited his church in Bogota, Colombia, on Sunday 16 September. Pastor Rodriguez was a leader at the United Pentecostal Church in the Marsella neighbourhood in the Kennedy sector of Bogota.

The reasons behind the assassination are unknown, however, according to local press reports, witnesses said the murder was carried out by what appeared to be professional hit men. Pastor Rodriguez was leaving the church after an afternoon service when he was shot multiple times by two men on a moped, a method commonly used in professional hits in Colombia. Hospital staff were unable to resuscitate him.

While the assassination of a pastor is extremely unusual in Bogota, countrywide church leaders are frequently targeted by illegal armed groups. CSW’s long-term partners in Colombia, the Colombian Council of Evangelical Churches (CEDECOL) Peace Commission, estimates that on average 20-30 church leaders are assassinated each year. In general, leaders are targeted because of their refusal to cooperate or support the objectives of the illegal armed groups; however, the reasons behind the murder of Pastor Rodriguez are unclear as he had not reported receiving any threats prior to Sunday’s events.

Pastor Rodriguez, who was on course to graduate in October from the Baptist Seminary in Cali, is survived by his wife and three children. In a statement released by the United Pentecostal Church of Colombia, Vicente Arango, Director of Missions, said, “Our heart is troubled by the departure of or brother, companion, and faithful friend. Our brother Henry Rodriguez, left for the King’s palace. Now he awaits the joyful words of our beloved Lord, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

Mervyn Thomas, Chief Executive of CSW, added, “We were devastated to learn of the assassination of Pastor Henry Rodriguez on Sunday evening and are extremely concerned at the fact that the assassination was carried out so brazenly in the capital city on the steps of the church in front of many witnesses. We encourage the Colombian authorities to ensure that a full investigation into the murder of Pastor Rodriguez takes place soon and that those responsible are brought to justice. We also offer our condolences to his wife, Sara, and their three children.”

Enough said. If anyone doubts that the Democratic Party is the party of godlessness, the videos below speaks for themselves (especially the second, longer version).

They can hastily try to cover up what they REALLY feel about God, as they did yesterday, to try to avoid a public-relations catastrophe (see story below). But the proverbial cat has long been out of the bag, for those of us who've been paying attention all these years.

More and more, the Democrats, the party of abortion and homosexual marriage, are starting to show their true nature, whether they want to or not.
==
One thing is crystal clear. They NEVER GOT they 2/3 majority needed to update their platform. This was a rush job, a scam, and a coverup to repair the damage they were beginning to suffer, as their original anti-God platform got more and more scrutiny.

God only knows what America will look like if we get four more years of these people in power. God help America.
Moments after convention chairman Antonio Villaraigosa gaveled in day two of the Democratic Convention, the hall burst into chaos as Democrats voted to amend their party's platform to include the word "God" and name Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Villaraigosa called the vote three times. The first two voice votes, which require a two-thirds majority to pass, were tied between "ays" and "nos." On the third vote it was still hard to tell whether he "ays" were audibly louder than the "nays" in the half-full arena.

OK folks, turn your speakers up, and please listen to the video above, if you haven seen/heard it before.

Its videos like this that make me like Paul Ryan. To me, Ryan is more honest about the real budget numbers than any politician in recent memory. He recognizes that America is headed over a financial cliff, and knows that difficult choices (i.e. cuts) have to be made to prevent American from even more dire financial problems down the road.

Some of the budget cuts he proposes are unpopular, and cause his enemies to vilify him (such as those liars who say he wants to "end Medicaid"). Look for more such lies and distortions from his political enemies between now and November. But Ryan is one of the few who's willing to be honest enough with America to tell us all what we need to hear about the budget numbers and the gloomy picture ahead of us if we continue down this path. His forthrightness on this issue is refreshing, although I do wonder if the American people really want to hear the uncomfortable truth, as much as we might say we do.

Time will tell. But I do like the pick for sure. Ryan is no Sarah Palin. He's no Dan Quayle, and his enemies know that... which I think makes them a bit nervous. He's a solid pick, one who has no problem going head-to-head with Obama himself (as seen in the video above).

Frankly, the Romney vs Obama debate will be interesting, but what I'm really looking forward to is the Ryan vs Biden debate. Somehow I have the feeling Biden is going to have his head handed to him when that debate comes along. I'll definitely have my popcorn ready.

So Obama's Healthcare Law has just been upheld. Amazing.

I have to agree with Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli on this one: "This decision goes against the very principle that America has a federal government of limited powers; a principle that the Founding Fathers clearly wrote into the Constitution, the supreme law of the land," Cuccinelli said in a statement. "The Constitution was meant to restrict the power of government precisely for the purpose of protecting your liberty and mine from the overreaching hand of the federal government.

"This unprecedented decision says that Congress has the authority to force citizens to buy private goods or face fines -- a power it has never had in American history, and a power King George III and Parliament didn't have over us when we were mere subjects of Great Britain," Cuccinelli continued. "Since the federal government itself could never articulate to the court a constitutional limit to this power, Congress has gained an unlimited power to force citizens to buy anything."

The decision means the historic overhaul will continue to go into effect over the next several years, affecting the way that countless Americans receive and pay for their personal medical care. The ruling also handed Obama a campaign-season victory in rejecting arguments that Congress went too far in requiring most Americans to have health insurance or pay a penalty.

===

I fail to see how the federal government can force citizens to buy any product from any private company and the Surpreme Court could consider it constitutional. Even more baffling is that the Supremes are upholding it as a tax... even though Obama himself specifically argued that it was NOT a tax!

Even more reason why Obama needs to go. Four more years of Obama and that will give him even more leeway to stack the court with liberal/leftist judges, who will make more liberal/left-leaning decisions, which will just hasten America's descent into God-knows-what. The New America is gradually taking shape right before our very eyes, and it's kinda scary to think what this New America will look like when we let the liberals in the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of government get their way.

Ironically, the swing vote here was from a supposedly "conservative" justice, John G Roberts Jr. Now If you cant even count on conservative justices to be truly conservative on important decisions like this, what will happen down the line when they retire and are replaced by decidedly more liberal justices? God help America, that's all I can say on that. God help America.

It'll be interesting to see... will this decision help or hurt Obama's reelection campaign in the long run? Will it energize his supporters to vote him into for another term? Or will it mobilize his opponents to make sure he doesnt stay in the White House past next January 19th? Of course, only time will tell. It's gonna be a wild and interesting ride, that's for sure.

Sad to hear about the recent passing of Grant Jeffrey, a giant among Bible Prophecy teachers and authors.

Jeffrey was an exceptional author and defender of the premillenial dispensational view of Bible prophecy. His research was always impressive to me, both in his books and articles (such as this one dealing with the pre-tirbulation rapture) , and as one who has a slew of prophecy related books, Jeffrey's works (such as Final Warning, pictured above) were always some of my favorites. He, and his work, will definitely be missed.

It’s been a few days since the Presidents abominable endorsement
of homosexual marriage, and my spirit is still quite disturbed and disgusted by
what took place. The social, political, and spiritual ramifications of what the
president did are huge, and we’ll see this all unfold over time.

To me the most striking aspect to all this are the spiritual
ramifications of course, and especially
in these 2 respects:

A/ Obama used scripture and his supposed Christian faith to
justify his opposition to, AND his support of, homosexual
marriage. Talk about twisting scripture when it’s convenient!

B/ Obama is a pseudo-Christian, but has been defended and supported
by many pastors & preachers (especially among the black clergy in particular),
which is disturbing on multiple levels.

So allow me to start off my rant with this:

1/ When Obama said he opposed same sex marriage, he said it
was because of his biblical/Christian beliefs. But incredibly, when he decided
to come out and support gay marriage, he also used scripture to support his
belief. As USA
today, put it well:

In fact, one of
the most striking aspects of Obama's revelation on Wednesday that he and his
wife, Michelle, support marriage rights for gays and lesbians, is that he
invoked their Christian faith to support his views. In past years, Obama — as
many believers still do — had cited his religious beliefs to oppose gay
marriage. (See full article here. )

Barack Obama’s own
words:

“I believe that

Yet in his interview with ABC News, he actually invokes the New
Testament “Golden Rule”
to support his new, “evolved” view:

“[Michelle and I] we are both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us

is, not only Christ sacrificing himself on our behalf, but it’s also the Golden

So now the Golden

[As an aside, Bear in mind
that Obama’s 2008 statement above was made while sitting on the platform in an Evangelical
church (so what else was he going to say in front of a buch of Evangelicals?)… Furthermore,
he was also running for office at the
time. That’s actually a big deal, since Obama had already been on record n
1996 as saying “I favor legalizing same-sex
marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such
marriages.” . This was said before he ran for US Senate and the presidency.
See here. ) There’s also evidence that Obama and/or his underlings lied about
it in 2011 when confronted with his own
words from 1996. See here)]

Anyway, moving on…
this just leads me to my other observation:

2A/ Obama is a fake Christian, and always was.

Personally, I’ve
NEVER believed Obama was a born again Christian. Not for a millisecond. The closest he’s come to any kind of Christian
experience is his membership in the church of pot-stirrer and racial agitator Rev.
Jeremiah Wright, a purveyor of Black Liberation Theology. Black Liberation Theology is, in essence, a
social/political gospel, not a true gospel of salvation.

Enough said on
that for now; however…

2B / Despite this man not showing any fruit of
being born again, Obama had (and presumably still has) widespread support of
many (most?) in the black clergy nationwide. And more than a few of them in
the past have bristled at the thought that anyone would question Obama’s
Christian faith. For example…

In the video
above we see Bishop TD Jakes saying he’s offended (!) by Rev. Franklin Graham
questioning Obama’s Christian faith, and even suggests Franklin should apologize! I wonder what
Jakes and others think now, since “Mr. Christian” Obama has now squarely come out
in favor of something God clearly considers to be an abomination.

In a nutshell, it’s
fairly obvious that many of these churches and their members voted in large
part based on racial considerations, rather than on any spiritual conviction. It’s
sad to me that pastors would come out and give their support to an ungodly man
simply because he’s “one of us”. But what does it say about the theological
grounding and/or discernment of these men, if they actually sincerely feel/felt
that Barack Obama is a born again Christian? Of course, as goes the shepherd,
so goes the sheep; thus, if the shepherds are clueless, what does that say for
their sheep? Nothing good, frankly.

Bottom line, the “black
church” as a whole is in trouble (or maybe I should say “a great many black
churches”, to be fair),. Blind sheep led by blind shepherds. I’m not saying that
to be harsh; just calling it like it is.

I do wonder now: how
long before the majority of black churches come out accepting or supporting
same-sex marriages? The Devil is definitely
working on that, so that may not be too far away.

Come Lord Jesus,
and rescue your people from this collective insanity, and this spirit of
darkness that is beginning to cover our land.

Amen.

I’m not a fan of “affirmative action” by any means, but it’s
ironic to me that in the party of affirmative action, the same party that likes

tend to vote 90% + for the Democrats over Republicans, but have little to show

African-Americans are woefully underrepresented relative to their percentage of

to me like the party that likes to point fingers at Republicans &
conservatives on race issues needs to clean its own house first.
Observerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12727615847476024390noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225870305412148081.post-49991843654167781932012-03-01T20:00:00.001-05:002012-03-01T20:04:42.049-05:00UNC Wants Christian Club to Let Unbelievers Lead

From CharismaNews:

The University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG) is saying a Christian student club
isn’t religious—and because it’s not religious, the “Make Up Your Own
Mind” club must allow students from other religious and belief systems
to become members and leaders in order to get formal group recognition
from the university.

That move led to a federal lawsuit against UNCG. Alliance Defense
Fund (ADF) attorneys representing the club filed suit on Wednesday.

“Saying that a Christian club isn’t religious is
flatly absurd, especially when the university has granted its
belief-based exception to numerous other clubs,” says ADF Legal Counsel
Jeremy Tedesco. “The First Amendment forbids the government from
determining what is and what is not ‘religious,’ yet the university is
doing exactly this by telling a Christian group that it is not
religious.

======

Let's just be real here. Would UNCG tell a Muslim group that they'd have to accept Buddhists as members of their club? Would they force an Atheist group to accept Christians or Muslims? Or a Liberal/Democratic club that they must accept Republicans/Conservatives as members? The answer to these questions is of course, no.

The stupidity of this all is simply breathtaking. Then again, these are
NOT stupid people we're dealing with here; this is a university staff
-- obviously fairly intelligent people. So what's at play here is
nothing but an anti-Christian agenda. UNCG has no leg to stand on, neither from a legal, or common-sense standpoint. This is nothing but harassment. This just makes me think of the days to come when the Devil will look for more reasons to harass believers in Christ and use whatever method, including the legal system, to do so. Jesus spoke of persecution that will face believers in Him:

9
“You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local
councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand
before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11
Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand
about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it
is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12
“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children
will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Mark 13: 9-13)

It's insane that this matter even has to go to court to dealt with. But may God work this out for His glory. This is an important case, just in terms of the precedent it could set. If UNCG is allowed to get away with this stunt, it just opens the doors for other colleges, universities, and other schools to do the same thing to Christian students. Here's hoping the Make Up Your Mind Club wins this case in court speedily. I'll keep an eye on this to see how this case turns out.

It was interesting to run across this recent article on Salon.com that attempts to mak the case for a single global currency.
It actually reminds me of this financial times article "And Now For World Government", which spelled out a case for having a single global government.

This thng of single world currency is a big deal. The US dollar has been the defacto world standard for many years, but the world is losing confidence in the US dollar and US economy as a whole, largely due to America's staggering and unsustainable debt levels. Talk of establishing a world currency has been batted about for years by economists and political leaders, and you can be sure such talk will get louder as time goes on.

The simple question is, if there is a global currency established, wouldn't there have to be a global authority to manage it? In essence, a global central bank to issue this currency, and to implement monetary policy concerning this world currency? Certainly.

Real simple, it comes down to this: global community... global economy... single global currency... global central bank... global government. All these concepts are inextricably linked. The push toward a single global currency is just one more step toward the One World Government that prophecy watchers have talked about for years. The world is being pushed in this direction for a reason, and the citizens of the world will end up accepting this, not really knowing who/what is behind it.

The Devil is building his One World kingdom, one brick at a time. The people of God had better pay close attention to whats going on.
In the age of globalization, what does it mean, really, to be from one country and not another? We have some easy answers, along the lines of language, shared history, cultural references, and geography. I grew up cheering for the Red Sox, not the Hiroshima Carp, so that adds to my American-ness. I had to learn about the Federalist Papers in high school. I pay taxes and vote here. All of these things, some minor, some major, contribute to my sense of being part of this country.

Greenbacks do too, whether I like it or not. The coins and banknotes of a place are one of the few remaining touch-points of national identity left in our increasingly digital world. The monuments, symbols, and famous people splashed on them help reinforce this sense of nationhood. But as representations of the currency, they do more than that, because the currency is both the fabric of the economy and the stitching of the state. Even Marco Polo saw this in China, as the currency pulled a vast kingdom together under one umbrella of economic organization.

In recent times, though, having a national currency, at least for smaller countries, is looking more and more anachronistic. At the minimum it should be up for debate. Benn Steil, an economist at the Council on Foreign Relations, told me that when he lived in Europe in the 1990s, the old saying was that to be a country you needed an airline, a stock exchange, and a currency. By the twenty-first century, that was hardly the case: airlines had merged or gone bankrupt, stock exchanges had consolidated, and the euro had become the dominant currency of the continent. In the years ahead, more and more small countries may decide to quit their currencies and adopt that of a more powerful neighbor (the Australian dollar in parts of Oceania, for instance), band together with nearby countries to form a currency block (e.g., the East African Monetary Union), or jump aboard an international powerhouse like the U.S. dollar or the euro.

All kinds of factors could sway this decision: runaway inflation, fear of currency crises, too little infrastructure to manage the cash supply, an unexpected rash of counterfeits, hope of greater competitiveness in global trade, and the wish to put an end to potentially dangerous speculation about the currency’s worth next week or next year.

Very sad to hear about the death of Whitney Houston. If Michael Jackson was the King of Pop, then Whitney Houston was the Queen.
One of the most amazing voices of our generation is gone; and gone way too soon. Condolences to the family and loved ones.
My favorite Whitney Houston song, and simply one of my favorite songs ever:

So Mr. Eddie Long is in the news again, and has created quite a buzz over being anointed "king" over at New Birth Church here in Atlanta.

One can read articles here and here for more detailed coverage of the fallout. But as for me, just a few random thoughts on this whole traveshamockery (travesty, sham, mockery) here...

1:08 of the video: the rabbi is gonna "pull off the foreskin of this"? Pause. Really? A poor choice of words, to say the least, considering what
many believe/know Eddie Long to have been involved with. A cringeworthy moment to be sure. It would almost be funny if it weren't so ironic.

The New Testament makes no provision for the office of “King”
in the church, the body of Christ. Eddie Long knows the Bible well enough to
know better. The NT tells us God has appointed apostles, pastors, evangelists,
prophets and teachers in His church, not a King. Jesus Christ is the only king.
Enough said on that.

It baffles me that anyone still looks up to this man as
pastor. And I think it’s a fairly safe guess that at least some of E. Long’s
members have the Holy Ghost; or so I assume. Is discernment dead/dying among people who
supposedly have the Spirit of God in them?

I wonder if Creflo Dollar still thinks people should stay at Long's church, or go back there if they left?

This E. Long debacle will probably only get worse before it
ever starts to get any better. Supposedly there are 2 books coming out, or at
least beign worked on, by 3 of his former accusers. Early incications are that
they could be quite scandalous indeed. Whether you’reis Full Gospel Baptist,
Charismatic (or whatever E.Long and New Birth identify themselves as) or not,
Eddie Long is still a prominent representative of “church” and Christianity”,
whether or not we agree with him on a certan dortinral points. As God said to
David after his dalliance with Bathsheba was exposed “You have caused the
enemies of God to blaspheme”. And Eddie Long, has done the same. He continues to
bring shame and ridicule to the name and the cause of Christ, and just makes the
job that much harder for those who want to lead sinners to the saving Gospel of
Christ. This man is a like a tumor in the body of Christendom, and one can only
hope he somehow gets his mind right, before he finds himself facing the wrath
of an angry God. Indeed, Eddie Long is in a scary and dangerous place right
now. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to know it. Quite sad.
Observerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12727615847476024390noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225870305412148081.post-86855201489410090342012-01-26T18:34:00.003-05:002012-01-26T18:51:57.001-05:00TD Jakes Finally Comes Clean Regarding His Trinitarian Views

I don't get into a lot of doctrinal discussion on this blog, although one who peruses the blog for a while can see that I am Oneness/ Apostolic Pentecostal in my beliefs. There's definitely no shame in my game regarding that. However, this blog primarily deals with current events in the light of endtime prophecy.

TD Jakes, one of America's well-known preachers, came out of a Oneness background himself , although for years he has seemed to be very cagey (some might even say disingenous) about his true beliefs on the Godhead, since his views had clearly shifted -- or were in the process of shifting -- from his original views on the issue.

Well, after years of playing doctrinal hide-and-seek on this issue, Jakes has now made it clear that he is no longer Oneness (no surprise to anyone who's been paying close attention), and has adopted a position that is closer to the typical Trinitarian view of God, although he doesnt seem to fully embrace the standard verbiage commonly associated with the Trinity doctrine. The Christian Post has the full article, which I found to be an interesting read. I'll just insert an excerpt here in this blog post, and allow those who're interested to read the full article if they wish via this link:
When my father died, I had a real experience with Christ, a real conversion with Christ and I had it in a Oneness church."

The minister emphasized to Driscoll that the Pentecostal congregation he was referencing, which he pointed out was not a UPCI church, was home to "Christians who believe in Jesus Christ, believe he died, rose from the dead, is coming back again — all the same things you do."

"How they describe and explain the Godhead in a traditional Oneness sense is very different than how traditional Trinitarians describe the Gospel. I was in that church for a number of years and raised in that church for a number of years," Jakes said.

"As I began to progress, I began to understand that some of the dogma that I was taught in the Oneness movement was very dogmatic, very narrow and not the very best description of how I now understand the Godhead," he continued.

"My struggle as I was ordained in the Oneness church was in several passages – sometimes the doctrine fit, sometimes it doesn't. When the doctrine becomes the primary thing, you force it into fitting in places where it doesn't fit. I really at this point in my life don't want to force my theology to fit in my denomination."

====

Of course, the very same thing can be accurately said about the Trinity doctrine:

in several passages, sometimes the doctrines fits, and sometimes it doesn't. When adherence to the doctrine and tradition of the Trinity becomes the primary thing, you force it into fitting in places where it doesn't fit.

But that's a story for another day. I'm in the process of setting up a separate Chrsitian website which will be evangelistically and doctrinally focused, and this Godhead issue will be dealt with in full, from multiple angles. I have multiple articles already compiled on this issue, and others that are still works in progress. The plan is for this blog to essentially be an appendage to the main website when it is set up, which I hope will be within a year or so.

Meanwhile, I still find Jakes' revelation of his true position somewhat interesting, especially since he has played cat-and-mouse on this issue for many years. While many Trinitarians criticized (or condemned) him for being Oneness, and many Oneness believers proudly claimed him as "one of our own", it was fairly obvious to me that he was being coy and evasive on this issue, and doing so for a reason. I was never one of those to consider Jakes to be a Oneness believer all these years. I suppose Mr Jakes just finally got tired of being under a cloud of doubt and/or specuation over this issue. I guess in the end the old saying applies here: "to thine own self be true". Frankly, Jakes could have/should have done this years ago. But I guess... better late than never.

====

As for me, my position on the core doctrines of the Word of God is as rock solid now as it has ever been:

Belief in the Oneness of God, a view that essentially mirrors the monotheistic doctrine of God of the first century Jewish Christians , rather than the gradually-evolving and later-established third century doctrine of the Trinity ( I frankly despise the term "modalism" that's some used to describle the Oneness view)

Salvation consisting of repentance, baptism in/into the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and infilling/bapstism with the Holy Spirit with initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

The pre-tribulation rapture of the church, the literal millenial reign of Jesus Christ on earth, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgement, eternal reward of the righteous, and eternal judgment in a literal hell for the unrighteous.

Indeed, that's a lot of "stuff" there that one might wish to dissect and have broken down. Time and space do not permit me to go into detail on these issues right now, but I look forward to laying this all out in the future (with an abundance of biblical references and thorough exposition), God willing, on the afrorementioned website still being constructed. I believe and know under God that it will be a blessing to many, to the glory of God and to the edification of the church.

May the Lord bring it to pass. Amen.

Meanwhile to all my first-time visitors and repeat visitors, thank you for stopping by. God bless you all.
Politicians are known for telling people what they want to hear, not what they really need to hear. Our dear <strike>Comrade</strike> President Obama is, of course, no different. Frankly, he's one of he worst offenders in recent memory.

As this AP article shows us, in last night's State of the Union address, the Campaigner-In-Chief didn't let pesky little things like truth, facts, or reality get in the way of a good election year speech. Still, I've heard so many people raving about what a wonderful, powerful speech it was.

Just goes to show that indeed you can fool some of the people all of the time.
FACT CHECK: Obama pushes plans that flopped before
Jan 24, 2012
WASHINGTON (AP) - It was a wish list, not a to-do list.

President Barack Obama laid out an array of plans in his State of the Union speech as if his hands weren't so tied by political realities. There can be little more than wishful thinking behind his call to end oil industry subsidies - something he could not get through a Democratic Congress, much less today's divided Congress, much less in this election year.

And there was more recycling, in an even more forbidding climate than when the ideas were new: He pushed for an immigration overhaul that he couldn't get past Democrats, permanent college tuition tax credits that he asked for a year ago, and familiar discouragements for companies that move overseas.

A look at Obama's rhetoric Tuesday night and how it fits with the facts and political circumstances:

OBAMA: "Our health care law relies on a reformed private market, not a government program."

THE FACTS: That's only half true. About half of the more than 30 million uninsured Americans expected to gain coverage through the health care law will be enrolled in a government program...

OBAMA, asking Congress to pay for construction projects: "Take the money we're no longer spending at war, use half of it to pay down our debt, and use the rest to do some nation-building right here at home."

THE FACTS: The idea of taking war "savings" to pay for other programs is budgetary sleight of hand...

OBAMA: "On the day I took office, our auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Some even said we should let it die. With a million jobs at stake, I refused to let that happen. In exchange for help, we demanded responsibility. We got workers and automakers to settle their differences. We got the industry to retool and restructure. Today, General Motors is back on top as the world's number one automaker. Chrysler has grown faster in the U.S. than any major car company. Ford is investing billions in U.S. plants and factories."

THE FACTS: He left out some key details. The bailout of General Motors and Chrysler began under Republican President George W. Bush...
