Carter Bashes Bush. Is He Serious??

This story broke a few days ago and is still in the news. I was incredulous when I saw it and now I feel compelled to make some kind of comment.

Carter recently went out of his way to bash the Bush administration. According to the AP:

"I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history," Carter told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in a story that appeared in the newspaper's Saturday editions. "The overt reversal of America's basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me."

Now of all the people in the world to criticize Bush or any other president, Jimmy Carter should be the last person to open his mouth. I guess people have short memories nowadays, but in my mind Jimmy Carter will always be the worst in American history. Maybe he knows that many people have given him that "worst president" label, so he's using Bush's difficulties now to try to put that label on someone else instead of himself.

For those who dont know, or forgot, just how bad Jimmy Carter's presidency was, maybe reading this will help: Ben Johnson lays it out well in his article: "A Failed Former President"

Meanwhile, with all the nasty, bitter comments this man has made since he left office, Carter wins the "worst ex-President" title hands down, too.
