The War Against the Christians

If one were to judge based on what we get from our hypocritical mainstream news media, one would think persecution of Muslims is rampant worldwide, and persecution of Christians is practically a non-issue. Indeed, quite the opposite is true.  Clifford D. May of National Review echoes my sentiments so well in this article that I don't really feel the need to say a lot in the way of introductory comments on this one. The article pretty much speaks for itself. Read on...

The War Against the Christians
The most important story not being told

Imagine if Muslims in Europe were being arrested for nothing more than peacefully practicing their religion. Imagine if Muslims in South America were being sentenced to death for “insulting” Jesus. Imagine if mosques were being bombed and burned by terrorists in a growing list of Christian-majority countries.

Now here’s what you don’t need to imagine because it is all too real: In recent days, Christian churches have been bombed in Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, and the Philippines. In Indonesia a mob of 1,000 Muslims burned down two Christian churches because, according to one commentator, local Islamic authorities determined there were “too many faithful and too many prayers.” In Iran, scores of Christians have been arrested. In Pakistan, a Christian woman received the death penalty for the “crime” of insulting Islam; the governor of Punjab promised to pardon her — and was then assassinated for the “crime” of blasphemy.

I could provide dozens more examples of the persecution and, in many cases, “cleansing” of Christians in what we have come to call the Muslim world. If the situation were reversed, if such a war were being waged against Muslims, it would be the top story in every newspaper, the most urgent item at the U.N., the highest priority of all the big-league human-rights groups.

What we have instead is denial...

Tens of Thousands of Muslims Coming to Christ, Says Iranian Ministry Leader

Great story posted on ChristianPost.com.
Sam Yeghnazar, founder of Iran-focused Elam Ministries is reporting that the middle east, and Iran in particular, is experiencing an unprecedented level of Muslims becoming followers of Jesus Christ.

“Iran today is a closed land with countless open hearts,” said Yeghnazar. “It is the most open nation to the Gospel in the entire world. Tens of thousands of Iranians are turning to Christ.”

“Betrayed by the government, disillusioned with the religion, depressed by the prospects of the future, Iranians when they come to know the Lord Jesus Christ are completely transformed,” he said. “They proclaim Christ in the marketplace. Entire families, men and women, are coming to Christ.”
Full article HERE.

Fantastic news, of course. But perhaps this shouldnt be a surprise. This kind of thing is supposed to happen. Jesus himself stated:
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14
May it be that this time of revival, and even greater, reaches every nation in every corner of our globe.
Of course, many of these believers convert to Christ at the very risk of their lives. May they continually be in our prayers. Amen.

Christian Groups Intensify Efforts Against U.N. Defamation Resolution

The hypocrisy that we see coming out of the Muslim world seems to know no end. Once again, various Muslim nations are pushing for the UN to vote on a so-called “Defamation of Religions” resolution. Upon close examination, however, it’s pretty transparent, however, that it’s mostly a “Defamation of Islam” resolution.

Of course, there is very little freedoms of religion in most Muslim nations, and in many such nations, those who convert from Islam to other religions – especially to Christianity – do so at the very risk of their lives. Chants of “Death to America, Death to Israel” and “Kill the Jews, Kill the Christians” are not uncommon in mosques in Muslim nations. So for them to introduce this Trojan horse of a resolution to supposedly prohibit defamation of religion – read “defamation of Islam – is the height of chutzpah and hypocrisy.

Thankfully, this time there seems to be more opposition to this bill from Christian organizations this year than in years past. Still, the temerity of these Muslim nations pushing this legislative atrocity in the UN is just breathtaking.

So what it boils down to is this: These people turn a blind eye to the atrocities taking place against Christians and other non-Muslims in their own countries…but they seem pretty thin-skinned when it comes to any speech that they feel “defames” their precious religion.

Amazing.
Simply. Amazing.

Article from the Christianpost.com

A U.N. resolution that seeks to criminalize words and actions perceived as attacks against religion – particularly Islam – will be up for vote again this year.

This time, however, the U.N. Defamation of Religions resolution is picking up more opposition than in previous years and might not pass as it has in the past.

“The resolution lost support in the U.N. General Assembly vote during the last couple of years and we think this year may be the tipping point,” reported Christian persecution watchdog group Open Doors, which has launched a campaign to rally concerned individuals against the resolution.

“We need to encourage key countries to change their vote on this resolution, supporting the efforts of our State Department,” it added.

Annually sponsored by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) since 1999, the anti-defamation resolution – which has been presented in various forms and under various titles – seeks to make the "defamation of religions" a human rights violation.

According to the resolution, the "defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general could lead to social disharmony and violations of human rights."

It also claims there is a “need to effectively combat defamation of all religions and incitement to religious hatred in general and against Islam and Muslims in particular."

Runaway Christian Convert Being Treated for Cancer

Seventeen year old Fathima Rifqa Bary, who bravely resisted her own parents as she chose Christ over Islam, is now fighting cancer. May the prayers of the saints be with her.

---
From FoxNews.com:

By Joshua Rhett Miller
Published May 25, 2010

The Muslim teenager from Ohio who converted to Christianity and fled to Florida in fear of retaliation is being treated for an "aggressive" form of uterine cancer, a close friend told FoxNews.com.

Fathima Rifqa Bary, 17, has undergone two operations and has a third scheduled for Thursday, said Jamal Jivanjee, an ordained pastor who heads an Orlando-based ministry.

"The biopsy did come back malignant," Jivanjee told FoxNews.com. "It's a pretty aggressive form of uterine cancer."
Doctors had initially considered a complete hysterectomy, Jivanjee said, but they are hopeful that the complete removal of Bary's uterus won't be necessary.

"She really wants people to pray for her," he said. "That was why the decision was made to get the news out there."

Islamic plan to criminalize Gospel message crumbling

We do have some good news to report. A sneaky plan to criminalize the Gospel message looks like it's losing support in the United Nation.

WorldNetDaiily reports on this important, but woefully underreported, story:

Islamic plan to criminalize Gospel message crumbling

U.N. vote shows 'continuing pattern of growing opposition' to proposal

By Bob Unruh

The latest vote on the nonbinding proposal came as the U.N. headed into the weekend, with 80 votes in favor of the proposal, 61 against and 42 abstentions. The results show support declining from the 86 yes votes a year ago and the 108 yes votes from two years ago.

Jay Sekulow, chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, has been working to raise the world's awareness of the implications of the plan for several years. He's especially concerned that the ultimate goal appears to be a binding action by the U.N.
© 2009 WorldNetDaily

Support for a United Nations proposal that critics contend would be used to ban criticism of Islam, censor the message of Jesus Christ and attack and kill Christians and members of other faiths is plunging, according to the newest vote totals.

A resolution has been pending in one form or another since 1999 and originally was called "Defamation of Islam." The name later was changed to "Defamation of Religions," but Islam remains the only faith protected by name in the proposal.

It is being sought by the 57 members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to "protect" Islam from what OIC members perceive as "criticism," which could include anything referencing Christianity since that could be considered a challenge to the beliefs of Muslims.
"For several years now, we have been working to oppose this resolution and this afront to religious freedom," he said in a blog posting shortly after the vote. 'During that time, we have seen a dramatic decline in support for this resolution.

He saw today's vote as "a very encouraging sign."

"What this tells us is that our message is getting through," he said. "A growing number of nations around the world understand that this resolution is unacceptable – that it is harmful, not helpful, to preserving religious liberty and freedom. We will continue to work on this issue and to educate more nations about the dangers of this resolution and encourage them to vote against it."

Lindsay Vessey, advocacy director for Open Doors USA, an international Christian ministry operating in many Islamic states, previously told WND that U.N. human rights provisions always have focused on individuals, but the concept of protecting a religion would give authoritarian governments virtually unrestrained power to attack individuals whose message they don't like.

"It would legitimize national blasphemy laws in countries that are actually going to persecute religious minorities, such as Pakistan and Afghanistan," she said.

Swiss Ban Mosque Minarets

GENEVA — Swiss voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional ban on minarets on Sunday, barring construction of the iconic mosque towers in a surprise vote that put Switzerland at the forefront of a European backlash against a growing Muslim population.

Muslim groups in Switzerland and abroad condemned the vote as biased and anti-Islamic. Business groups said the decision hurt Switzerland's international standing and could damage relations with Muslim nations and wealthy investors who bank, travel and shop there.

"The Swiss have failed to give a clear signal for diversity, freedom of religion and human rights," said Omar Al-Rawi, integration representative of the Islamic Denomination in Austria, which said its reaction was "grief and deep disappointment."

Are these people kidding? Muslims, complaining about a lack of diversity, freedom of religion, and human rights??!!! Please.

Let's strip away all the foolish politically-correct junk we always hear in the media about the so-called "religion of peace". The simple fact is, Muslims should be the last one complaining about "freedom of religion", "religious diversity", etc. Islam is simply the most intolerant religion on the planet. Christians and other non-Muslims are killed in Muslim countries at an alarming rate in numerous countries around the world. Muslims cannot claim the same thing regarding followers of their religion. In fact, Many Muslims go to various parts of the world and expect (or demand) religious freedoms that they know are not available in the Muslim countries they came from.

In fact, former Muslims who convert to another religion in a Muslim country often do so at risk of their very lives (especially if they convert to Christianity). And we haven't even begun to talk about the genocide in Sudan, perpetrated by Muslims against non-Muslims in areas such Darfur, which has taken hundreds of thousands of lives. Of course, the Muslim world is silent about that, but if 20 Palestinians were to be killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, the Arab/Muslim world would be howling about the "injustice". Oh, the hypocrisy.

Let Muslims worldwide show concern for human rights and freedom of religion for those who don't believe as they do... and then maybe they'll be in a position to grumble when others oppose them trying to spread their religion wherever they go. In the meantime -- sorry, no sympathy here.

The photos below are from a Muslim protest in London in March 2006. This should give us all an idea of why so many Europeans are alarmed about the spread of Islam on their continent.

America's First Muslim President?

Let me start of by saying I was never one to believe all this "Obama is a secret muslim" stuff that's been going around the past year or two. And I still dont consider him a Mulsim. He identifies himself as a Christian and so I take that at face value. (Of course I don't consider him to be a true Christian by bible standards, but just in the nominal sense)

But Frank Gaffney of the Washington Post offers presents a though-provoking article on the topic. His argument is simple but cogent: If Bill Clinton was referred to by some of his admirers as "America's first black president" for his affinity to the black community and "black issues" , Obama could (should?) similarly be considered America's first Muslim president for his very clear affinity to the Muslim community. I guess it makes sense to some degree. You know, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... that kind of thing. He's definitely been trying to appeal to (some would say "appease") the Muslim world, while taking a tough stance toward Israel up to this point. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

PS
Some of you might want to refer back to a previous post on this blog from March 2008: "What are Obama's Real Views Regarding Israel?"

----------------------------
From the Washington Times article:

Obama aligns with the policies of Shariah-adherents

During his White House years, William Jefferson Clinton -- someone Judge Sonia Sotomayor might call a "white male" -- was dubbed "America's first black president" by a black admirer. Applying the standard of identity politics and pandering to a special interest that earned Mr. Clinton that distinction, Barack Hussein Obama would have to be considered America's first Muslim president.

This is not to say, necessarily, that Mr. Obama actually is a Muslim any more than Mr. Clinton actually is black. After his five months in office, and most especially after his just-concluded visit to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, however, a stunning conclusion seems increasingly plausible: The man now happy to have his Islamic-rooted middle name featured prominently has engaged in the most consequential bait-and-switch since Adolf Hitler duped Neville Chamberlain over Czechoslovakia at Munich.

What little we know about Mr. Obama's youth certainly suggests that he not only had a Kenyan father who was Muslim, but spent his early, formative years as one in Indonesia. As the president likes to say, "much has been made" -- in this case by him and his campaign handlers -- of the fact that he became a Christian as an adult in Chicago, under the now-notorious Pastor Jeremiah A. Wright.

With Mr. Obama's unbelievably ballyhooed address in Cairo Thursday to what he calls "the Muslim world" (hereafter known as "the Speech"), there is mounting evidence that the president not only identifies with Muslims, but actually may still be one himself. Consider the following indicators:

Anatomy of a Speech.... (are these people serious???)

Ok.  So our dear president Obama gives this groundbreaking speeech in Cairo yesterday addressing the Arab/Muslim world. Of course, the speech has being highly praised by most, not just in the Muslim world , but in the US and Western news media as well.

I must be listening with a completely different set of ears from most people, because I came away not impressed, but aggravated and annonyed.

The full text of his speech is available here, but a few things jumped out at me:

"I've come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap and share common principles, principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings."

Justice? Tolerance? Is he kidding? Excuse me while I barf.

Maybe he should go visit Persecution.com when he gets a chance... and read up about Christian persecution in Muslim countries. He seems to not know what's really going on.

"And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."

Really??

Now this is Obama's second speech aimed at placating the Muslim world -- remember he gave a somewhat similar speech in Turkey in April. But why has he not rebuked Iran for being a huge (and potentially nuclear) threat to the region, and particularly to  the security of Israel? Why has he not rebuked the Muslim government of Sudan for their slaughter against non-Muslims in Darfur?

"Moreover, freedom in America is indivisible from the freedom to practice one's religion. That is why there is a mosque in every state in our union and over 1,200 mosques within our borders."

This might have been the biggest "eye-rolling" moment for me. Does Obama not know that in much of the Muslim world, Christianity is either banned or severely restricted? Does he not know of the persecution that takes place in Mulim countries all over the world? How ironic that he felt the need to impress these people by telling them how they have freedom to practice their religion here in the U.S., while many of those same people dont allow non-Muslims to  have freedom to preactice their religion in their countries!??

"That's why the United States government has gone to court to protect the right of women and girls to wear the hijab, and to punish those who would deny it."

Please. Give me a break. How about the fact that many Muslims get punished in their home countries for converting to Christianity?

"It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra, our magnetic compass and tools of navigation, our mastery of pens and printing, our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires, timeless poetry and cherished music, elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation."

That may be true. But in recent years, we've seen other notable innovations coming out of Muslim communties ....such as knapsack bombs, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and other clever advances in suicide-bomber technology. (But I guess mentioning that stuff wouldn't fit in with the overall tone of the President's speech.)

Did I listen to the whole speech? No. A  few minutes of it was all I could stand. But I know appeasement when I hear it. And that's all this was:a simple case of  "let's appease and 'kiss up' to the Muslim world". If this is what we have to look forward to for the next four to eight years under President Obama, then God help us all.

13-Year-Old Rape Victim Stoned To Death In Somalia For Adultery

Sad story coming out of Somalia. This story speaks for itself...but my one question is this: If Islam is supposed to be a "religion of peace", why havent we heard an uproar in the Islamic world over crimes like this, which happen frequently in islamic countries worldwide?

Thank God for brave women like Ayaan Hirsi Ali (top picture) also of Somalian descent, who are brave enough to speak about the the widespread barbarism, especially barbarism against women, coming out of the Islamic world.

November 1, 2008 11:34 AM EST |

MOGADISHU, Somalia — A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.

Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct. 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.

Initial local media reports said Duhulow was 23, but her father told Amnesty International she was 13. Some of the Somali journalists who first reported the killing later told Amnesty International that they had reported she was 23 based upon her physical appearance.

Calls to Somali government officials and the local administration in Kismayo rang unanswered Saturday.

"This child suffered a horrendous death at the behest of the armed opposition groups who currently control Kismayo," David Copeman, Amnesty International's Somalia campaigner, said in a statement Friday.

Somalia is among the world's most violent and impoverished countries. The nation of some 8 million people has not had a functioning government since warlords overthrew a dictator in 1991 then turned on each other.

A quarter of Somali children die before age 5; nearly every public institution has collapsed. Fighting is a daily occurrence, with violent deaths reported nearly every day.

Islamic militants with ties to al-Qaida have been battling the government and its Ethiopian allies since their combined forces pushed the Islamists from the capital in December 2006. Within weeks of being driven out, the Islamists launched an insurgency that has killed thousands of civilians.

In recent months, the militants appear to be gaining strength. The group has taken over the port of Kismayo, Somalia's third-largest city, and dismantled pro-government roadblocks. They also effectively closed the Mogadishu airport by threatening to attack any plane using it.

CNN Avoids Mentioning Islam in Segment on 'Honor Killings'

(The photo above is of Amina and Sarah Said, [allegedly] killed by their father in a so-called " honor killing" in Texas on New Years Day 2008. The father is still being sought, and is widely believed to be have fled the country. )

Can you properly discuss the phenomenon of "honor killings" without mentioning Islam? No... but CNN somehow tried very hard to do so. Another example of our liberal mainstream media bending over backward to not offend Muslims or make Islam look bad. Honor killings are are not exclusively a Muslim issue, but they do occur disproportionately in Muslim societies.

...Political correctness run amok.

From Newsbusters.org:

Quite a feat: CNN has pulled off the MSM equivalent of describing a spiral staircase without using one's hands. It has managed to produce a segment on "honor killings" and related violence in the UK . . . without using the word "Muslim" or "Islam." CNN Newsroom anchor Don Lemon introduced the segment this afternoon at 1:37 PM EDT.

DON LEMON: Women forced into marriages, or killed for having the wrong boyfriend. So-called "honor crimes" are often committed by fathers or brothers when daughters do something that supposedly brings shame on the family. It's on the rise in Britain, and authorities, they are very worried about it. Our Paula Newton reports.

Actress Bridget Bardot is on trial in France, for saying some harsh things against Islam. Many countries around the world have such laws where people face imprisonment for speaking against any religion they disagree with. Very disturbing. And look for it to get worse.

How long before we Americans can get prosecuted and face possible jail time for speaking against a religion we disagree with? How long before blogs like this get shut down for the same speech?

PARIS - Brigitte Bardot is back on trial in France, facing charges of fanning discrimination and racial hatred against Muslims.

In a Paris court hearing Tuesday, prosecutors said they are seeking a two-month suspended prison sentence and a $23,900 fine against the former screen siren and animal rights campaigner.

Bardot, 73, was not present for the hearing. A verdict is expected June 3.

A leading French anti-racism group known as MRAP filed suit last year over a letter that Bardot sent to then-Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, and which was published in her foundation's quarterly journal.

In the letter to Sarkozy, now the president, Bardot accused France's Muslim population of destroying France, and complained about the Muslim feast of Eid al-Adha.

French anti-racism laws prevent inciting hatred and discrimination on racial or religious or racial grounds. Bardot has been convicted four times for inciting racial hatred.

Saudi divorces wife for watching male TV host: report

OK, folks, here's our crazy news story of the day. Kind of speaks for itself, I think.

A Saudi man divorced his wife for watching alone a television programme presented by a male, an act he deemed immoral, the Al Shams newspaper reported on Saturday.

The man, whom the paper did not identify, ended his marriage on the grounds his wife was effectively alone with an unrelated man, which is forbidden under the strict Islamic law enforced in the ultra-conservative kingdom, the paper said.

Men in Saudi Arabia have the authority to divorce their wives without resort to the courts.

Islam: What the World Needs to Know

Is Islam really a "religion of peace"? or is this just another lie the mainstream media likes to tell us? This documentary sheds some light on the issue.

Pastors' convictions for quoting Quran overturned

I guess its only a matter of time before these so called vilification Laws come to America. They are already in Candada and Australia. God help America when such a law comes here!

Story from WorldNetDaily.

Two Australian pastors who were convicted of "vilifying" Muslims when they quoted from the Quran during a seminar on jihad have had their appeals upheld by the Victorian Supreme Court.

And while that means they will return to a lower court for another trial, that actually is a good result, according to a new report from Voice of the Martyrs.

"In a sense we are happy with this decision… It means this case will be kept alive in the public consciousness," Pastor Danny Nalliah said in a VOM report. "There's a need to keep these vilification laws in sharp focus to reveal the problems this law is creating."
The Australian law was imposed in order to prevent the denigration of people based on their race or religion, and similar laws also have been approved in Canada, where critics of the law say they include sexual orientation and forbid pastors from condemning homosexuality as a sin.

Many of the "hate crimes" proposals in the United States are based on a similar concept: designating as "crimes" the statements people make about their own beliefs or convictions.

Muslim Persecution of Christians in the Holy Land

As the world bends over backward to make sure Muslims dont feel they are being offended or persecuted, we see that obviously many muslims arent worried about the feelings of Christians living among. This story is about Christians in Bethlhem, the birthplace of Christ.

O, Muslim town of Bethlehem...
http://thisislondon.co.uk
Dec. 16,2006.

All is quiet in Bethlehem. On Manger Square, the Church of the Nativity stands in the pale gloom of dusk, its doors open to passing pilgrims.

But inside, the nave is empty of visitors and the collection boxes depleted of coins.

In the candlelit grotto downstairs, a silver star marks the spot where Jesus is supposed to have been born.

It is one of the most sacred sites in Christendom, but there are no tourists queuing to see it.

Just 500 yards down the road, Joseph Canawati is not looking forward to Christmas.

The expansive lobby of his 77-room Hotel Alexander is empty and he says: "There is no hope for the future of the Christian community.

"We don't think things are going to get better. For us, it is finished."

Life for Palestinian Christians such as 50-year-old Joseph has become increasingly difficult in Bethlehem - and many of them are leaving.

The town's Christian population has dwindled from more than 85 per cent in 1948 to 12 per cent of its 60,000 inhabitants in 2006.

There are reports of religious persecution, in the form of murders, beatings and land grabs.

Meanwhile, the breakdown in security is putting off tourists, leading to economic hardship for Christians, who own most of the town's hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops.

The situation has become so desperate that the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, and Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor, the head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, are to lead a joint delegation to Bethlehem this week to express their solidarity with the beleaguered Christian populace.

The town, according to the Cardinal, is being "steadily strangled".

The sense of a creeping Islamic fundamentalism is all around in Bethlehem.

Muslim woman cites gym after interrupted prayer

This is a mind-boggling story to me, especially since in most Muslim countries there is intolerance toward Christians and Jews in particular. Yet we now see many Muslims, and immigrant Muslims in particular, complaining that America isn't being welcoming, accommodating, or tolerant toward them!!

I particularly love the line that says: "Sultan said she came to the United States to secure her freedom and to avoid intolerance."

Too bad our fellow Christian brothers have to leave Muslim countries, not go to them, to avoid intolerance and secure their freedom.

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061205/LIFESTYLE04/612050368/1041

DEARBORN -- Fitness USA, a gym chain, is investigating an alleged civil rights violation involving a local Muslim woman who says her afternoon prayer was interrupted by a fellow patron, and that her complaint to management about the situation was rejected.

"The manager told me, 'You have to respect her (the patron), but she does not have to respect your God,' " said Wardeh Sultan of Dearborn. "I've had my membership for seven or eight years, and I've never had a problem with praying there.

"I told that manager, 'I can't believe you said that' " Sultan said. "Honestly, I feel humiliated and I feel ashamed, right now, to go back to Fitness USA."

Sultan said she came to the United States to secure her freedom and to avoid intolerance.

The Mohammed Images Are Not New.

Repost. Orignially posted March 20, 2006.

Millions protesting worldwide. Dead bodies lying in the streets. Over what, some cartoons? But why now? Despite what some would have you believe, printed images of Mohammed are not a new thing. The Mohammed Image Archive gives proof of that.

The Mohammed Image Archive is a compendium of images that depict Mohammed (the 7th-century founder of Islam), spanning all historical periods, cultures and genres. The inspiration for this Archive came from the global controversy over the publication of Mohammed cartoons in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, and the need for a comprehensive and even-handed look at the wide variety of Mohammed depictions in Islamic and Western societies from the Middle Ages until today.

View the Mohammed Image Archive, and decide for yourself : http://www.zombietime.com/mohammed_image_archive/
The open question remains, not just why the protests, and why the violence, but WHY NOW?

Article: Negative Perception Of Islam Increasing

A Washington Post article says that Americans have an increasingly negative view of Islam.

Quote: "As the war in Iraq grinds into its fourth year, a growing proportion of Americans are expressing unfavorable views of Islam, and a majority now say that Muslims are disproportionately prone to violence, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. The poll found that nearly half of Americans -- 46 percent -- have a negative view of Islam, seven percentage points higher than in the tense months after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center..."
(Gee, they had to do a poll to find that out?)

We've been hearing for years now that the West (and America in particular) has to improve its image in the Islamic world. Lets see now, after seeing muslims kill 3000 americans on 9/11/01, beheading innocent westerners in Iraq, killing Christians and other non-muslims in Sudan, and more recently seeing people lying dead in the streets worldwide over some offensive cartoons, the real question might be this: Does the west have to improve it's image with the islamic world, or does the islamic world have to improve its own image?

The Madness Continues

Repost. Originally posted Feb-19-2006

So now Muslim rioters kill 16 people in Nigeria protesting some cartoons that they say insulted their religion. They attacked and burned Christian churches, killing innocent people. Someone please explain to me what Christians in Nigeria had to do with cartoons printed in Denmark and other parts of Europe. The answer, of course, is NOTHING! Just another excuse for a bunch of deluded radical Islamists to foment hatred against those who don't agree with them. And this is the so-called "religion of peace"? Please. Enough said.

And while we're at it, why doesn't the media address the widespread practice of anti-Jewish and anti-Christian cartoons routinely shown in Arab Muslim countries? Seems to me like today's media is bending almost making a concerted effort to NOT show both sides of this issue. Why? Are they afraid of becoming victims of radical Muslims themselves? As much as the media likes to demonize Christians (such as the "Christian Right), it's interesting how they seem to be trying not to show the real dark side of radicalist Islam in the world today. Still the violence speaks for itself. Even with a compliant media tiptoeing around the issue, the truth about radical Islam can't be hidden.

Keep your eyes open, folks. Keep them open
